Round 1 of the Gippsland Region Motocross Championship kicks off this weekend (5-6th March) in Wonthaggi.
The full Empire Kawasaki motocross team will be lining up to race on the KX450 and KX250; Jayden Rykers (6), Haruki Yokoyama (386), Jai Constantinou (44).
This is the first time for 2022 the entire team has been able to get on-track at the same time.
Team Owner, Tyson Cherry:
“We are all excited about the coming weekend. This pre-season has been fantastic for the team. The restrictions of the past couple of years have made it tough to get the team together for a round. The Gippy MX is going to be a good lead-in for the team before we enter the first round of the ProMX Championship in a couple of weeks”
Jayden Rykers has been based in Western Australia and competing in the State rounds.
“Jayden is in the best position ever to launch into the ProMX series. He has just taken out the WA Supercross Championship on the KX450. The training regime is showing results with him on the top step of the WA podium.”
Jayden is not the only rider working hard for the start of the season.
“Haruki and Jai have both been doing a lot of hours on the KX250 for training and competing in events. Haruki has been getting great results with podium finishes in Nowra and Arenacross.”
