Empire Kawasaki aiming to finish strong in the ProMX at Coolum

The Coolum Pine Motocross Club will host the final round of the 2022 ProMX Championship this weekend (August 20th-21st).

The deep sand of Coolum is a part of Australian motocross history with many championships going to the wire in unforgettable battles on the track.

Empire Kawasaki will have their own challenges when taking on the rough and demanding sands of Coolum. The epic two days of racing will force the team to bring their A-game if they are to create opportunities to conquer the track and finish the year strongly.

“Empire Kawasaki is excited heading into the final round of the ProMX”, said Team Manager/Owner, Tyson Cherry. “The boys are feeling good, and we are looking at finishing off the season strong.”

Jayden is taking the time to recover from his accident in WA. For this final round, the team will be MX2 focused. Haruki and Jai have been in Queensland since the last round spending the time training on the KX250 and getting familiar with the area.”

When you see the Empire Kawasaki KX250s at Coolum they may look a bit different.

“To us, the Coolum round is the pink round, and the bikes will have a special sticker kit,” said Tyson when asked about this bold change. “We are choosing to make this a themed round to continue raising awareness of breast cancer and women’s health issues. With the inclusion of the MXW races at this round, it felt like the right timing. The vibrant pink, while it is cliched, is our acknowledgment that there is a lot of work still to be done to support women involved in all aspects of motocross."

The full year of racing has given the team a lot to work on for supercross and help to lock in the strategy for development in the coming years. While the focus for the weekend is Coolum, the team planning for the Australian Supercross Championship is underway.
