Empire Motorsport Off-Road Team standout Will Price has broken through for a pair of podium results at the third and fourth rounds of the 2023 Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) at Queensland Moto Park.
Riding the 2023 Kawasaki KX250X, Price wasted little time coming to terms with the rocky, dusty conditions that greeted the competitors in the hills behind Boonah, setting the second-quickest time in the opening test of the round.
From that point on Price maintained a strong pace for the rest of the day to take a hard-earned P3 result in the E1 class.
Sunday’s fourth round was almost a carbon copy for the talented Kawasaki racer, starting the day with a second-fastest time, then consolidating in the challenging conditions to finish the weekend with another third-place finish.
“It was a positive weekend. There were nice, challenging, rocky dusty conditions out there, but we survived and made it out in one piece," Price commented. “I’m stoked to have put the green bike on the box both days, and to see another manufacturer on the podium.
"We’re taking baby steps, but we’re getting there and it’s encouraging to see the hard work we’re putting in starting to pay off. I’m really looking forward to continuing that form into the A4DE and the next rounds of the AORC season.”
Price will next be in action at the Australian Four-Day Enduro in Harvey, Western Australia, from 17-20 May. Rounds five and six of the AORC will be held at Edenhope, VIC, on 22-23 July.
