EMPIRE KAWASAKI EAGER FOR 2023 AUSTRALIAN SUPERCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP GATE-DROP IN ADELAIDE

Empire Kawasaki is ready for the gates to drop on the 2023 Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX), with a motivated line-up of Matt Moss, Haruki Yokoyama and Cambell Williams geared up to compete on Saturday night at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

Joining the team for the 2023 AUSX season, multiple Australian champion Moss is determined to go one better than he did in the SX1 standings last year, where he missed out on the title by a single point.

The proven race-winner will have his charge boosted by the Empire Motorsport-prepared 2023 Kawasaki KX450 for the upcoming campaign, as both he and the Empire Kawasaki team share the clear goal of claiming the SX1 title.

Japanese ace Yokoyama enters his second season in the SX2 category of AUSX, looking to build towards podium contention and land consistent top five results with his customary fast-starts onboard the 2023 Kawasaki KX250.

Rising star Williams is a highly competitive challenger in the SX3 ranks. As a race winner in the development category at national level, his sights are set firmly on title contention in the stadiums this time around, also armed with the KX250.

“With Matt we are here to go for a championship, he’s riding really good and we are pushing for that top step,” said Empire Kawasaki team owner Tyson Cherry. “The same goes with Cambell in SX3 and with Haruki we are trying to get on the podium. It’s a pretty stacked field in SX2, but he’s riding really good and he has the potential to be a consistent top-five guy this year.

“I think it’s really cool to be racing in the Adelaide Entertainment Centre to open the season. Obviously, it’s a lot smaller track, but with the fans and everyone, I think it will be a really good event. Being back in a stadium, it’s ideal for us, it just brings a really good vibe to the team as well.”

The opening round of the 2023 Australian Supercross Championship takes place inside the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Adelaide, South Australia, this Saturday, October 7, with the first heat races commencing at 6:20pm local time and being broadcast live on 7plus throughout Australia.
