Empire Kawasaki Look To Build On Momentum At ProMX Round 2

The Empire Kawasaki Team heads to Horsham, Victoria, for Round 2 of the ProMX Championship this Sunday 7th April, excited to build on great momentum from the opening Round of the Championship and State based wins for Luke Clout at the Sunshine State MX Series.

Wonthaggi proved itself as the centre stage for the All-New 2024 Kawasaki KX450, following on from many months of testing and development by the team and MX1 Team Rider Luke Clout.

With a consistent showing at Round 1 and 6th overall in the highly competitive MX1 field, Clout would rebound just one week later at R2 of the Sunshine State MX Series at MX Farm, where following new settings from SHOWA Suspension and testing with the team, he would go on to win over the majority of his ProMX competition in convincing fashion at the QLD event.

“I’m ready for Horsham and excited to take the new settings and momentum we have into a hard packed track”, said Clout.

“The progress we made with the bike between ProMX and the SSMX event one week later was huge. With an All-New bike and team for me, it’s exciting how much more comfortable I’m feeling heading into Horsham. We achieved our goals of Wonthaggi, leaving with solid points and now I’m ready to challenge at the front of the field”, concluded Clout.

In the MX2 class, Reid Taylor will also look to build on promising speed from Wonthaggi as he hits the track at Horsham. Taylor showed class leading speed in the opening laps at Wonthaggi and will take learnings from where he struggled in the sand to progress ready for the Hard-pack conditions at Horsham.

“My starts were great at Wonthaggi and so was my speed in the opening laps”, said Taylor.

“I’ve been spending more time riding Motocross since I returned home from the Indian Supercross League heading into Wonthaggi and my flow and high speed intensity is coming back. I prefer hard packed tracks and Horhsam has big jumps and ruts, I’m excited to show what I can do this weekend for R2,” concluded Taylor.

Round 2 of the 2024 ProMX Championship takes place at the Horsham Circuit in Victoria on Sunday April 7th, with the event being broadcast across free-to-air coverage on SBS and the streaming platform SBS On Demand along with the ProMX TV livestream coverage.
