Empire Kawasaki Targeting The Podium At ProMX Gillman

The Empire Kawasaki Team travels to Gillman, South Australia, located just outside the City Centre of Adelaide, for Round 3 of the ProMX Championship taking place on Sunday 5th May. After the opening 2 Rounds of the Championship, Team riders Luke Clout (MX1) and Reid Taylor (MX2) are poised to take great steps toward the podium after logging valuable gate drops and race time leading into Round 3.

As both the Empire Kawasaki Team and Luke Clout continue to make great progress with the All-New 2024 Kawasaki KX450 in the MX1 Class, Clout is looking to build on a solid Round 2 at Horsham.

Small mistakes and a lingering back injury cost him race wins and a shot at the overall podium whilst he demonstrated race-winning speed, but that is not deterring the MX1 star as he heads to Gillman.

“I’ve always enjoyed coming to race on the loamy tracks of South Australia”, commented Clout.

“Since Horsham we have been able to continue progressing with testing and my back has had time to recover also. I’m comfortable on the bike and feel healthy, fast and ready to go. I’m targeting nothing short of a podium and claiming my first race win of the season that slipped away at Horsham”, concluded Clout.

In the MX2 Class, Reid Taylor has been traversing a fine line between speed and consistency, posting great starts and track position with crashes, arm pump and frustration. A 10th place in Moto 2 at Horsham was a compromise to build consistency in 2024 and Taylor is ready for Gillman.

“Horsham was great for me to log more laps and post a consistent result in Moto 2”, commented Taylor.

“The Team and I know that we are capable of much better results as my speed and starts have shown. I’m excited for Gillman, it’s a fast track and it starts with qualifying, a solid gate pick and opening lap track position is very important. I’m excited to go racing”, concluded Taylor.

Round 3 of the 2024 ProMX Championship takes place at Gillman, South Australia, Victoria on Sunday 5th May, with the event being broadcast across free-to-air coverage on SBS and the streaming platform SBS On Demand along with the ProMX TV live stream coverage.
