On the June long weekend, Tabitha Newcomb attended the final round of the NSW MX State Title Series in Wagga riding in the Junior Girls 250cc class.
After an inconsistent first 2 rounds finishing second overall for round 1 and 4th overall after round 2 she knew there was going to be close battles all weekend.
Race 1, Tabitha had a good start getting the holeshot but unfortunately, another rider collided with her, resulting in a severely bent gear lever, which left her stuck for gear changes the rest of the moto.
Race 2, she managed to get around the first corner in the middle of the pack and focused on staying smooth to keep the bike upright in very deep technical conditions.
Finally, Tabitha got off to another great holeshot in race 3 to lead a few laps, finishing 3rd overall in that race which left me 4th overall in the championship.
It was another great experience for Tabitha, taking away lots of positives and lessons about racecraft and enjoying every stage.
