Podiums and International Success for Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki at ProMX Wonthaggi

The Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki Team kicked off the 2025 ProMX Championship in Wonthaggi, Victoria, with a bang! MX1 rider Luke Clout secured 3rd overall and MXW rider, Taylah McCutcheon, helped Team Australia win the FIM Women’s Oceania MX Cup.

MX1 Highlights:

Luke Clout (#4): After posting the 3rd fastest time in Kawasaki MX1 Qualifying on Saturday, Clout faced a setback in the Sunday morning superpole session with a crash, relegating him to the 8th fastest time. Despite this, he had a fantastic start in the opening moto, challenging for the lead and eventually finishing 4th. In moto 2, Clout overcame an early crash to climb back to 4th, securing 3rd Overall with consistent 4-4 moto scores.

Clout commented, “I’m happy with our progress today. The team and I picked up right where we left off last season, on the podium. Wonthaggi is a challenging track, but we made positive progress with the bike. I have some things to clean up before Appin, but overall, we’re in a great place for the Championship.”

MX2 Highlights:

Ryan Alexanderson (#62): Debuting on the Empire Kawasaki KX250, Alexanderson finished 7th Overall with 11-5 moto scores. An unfortunate time penalty in the opening moto saw him relegated from 6th to 11th.

Today was a bit frustrating, but I’m happy to debut for Empire Kawasaki with strong finishes and something to build on for Appin,” said Alexanderson.

MXW and FIM Women’s Oceania MX Cup:

Taylah McCutcheon (#10): McCutcheon excelled in both the MXW Class and the FIM Oceania Women’s Motocross Cup, helping Team Australia secure victory in the inaugural international event. She finished 6th Overall in the MXW Class and is eager for more as MXW returns at Gillman, SA for Round 3.

To help Team Australia take victory at Wonthaggi was amazing. I’m a little frustrated with my 6th Overall in MXW due to some small issues, but it’s a solid start to the season,” concluded McCutcheon.
