Empire Motorsports Shine at Casterton Enduro Championships (AEC Rd 7 & 8)

Casterton, VIC — The Australian Enduro Championships returned to Victoria’s lush western pastures for Rounds 7 and 8, delivering what many are calling the best event of the 2025 season. Hosted by the Casterton Motorcycle Club, the event featured world-class amenities including livestream coverage, grandstands, wash bays, and food trucks, drawing over 400 competitors to the challenging sand tracks.

Empire Kawasaki Off-Road Team riders Will Price and Nate Munro showcased exceptional grit and skill across both rounds.

I went really good, had a few collisions with other riders but other than that it was really smooth and consistent,” said Munro. “The key was lots of on and off the bike training, drinking and eating well, just doing all the right things.”

Round 7 – Cross Country Brilliance

Saturday’s cross country format offered a refreshing change from the dry conditions earlier in the season. Riders navigated a dynamic course through sandy bracken, rocky quarries, and flowing grass tracks. Munro dominated the J3 class with a hole shot and a commanding win, finishing third outright in the junior category.

Will Price also impressed, pushing through early arm pump to secure his first top ten outright finish of the year.

It was a gnarly cross country. The track was so beat up, so physically demanding but I’m super happy with our day,” Price said.

Round 8 – Sprint Format Challenge

Sunday’s sprint format tested riders’ endurance and precision. A foggy morning added difficulty as competitors tackled a brutal seven-minute sprint track. Munro secured second place in J3, while Price, despite a strong start, fell outside the top 20 due to a costly mistake in test four.

Team Manager Stelios Liakopoulos praised the team’s resilience:

It was a good weekend, the boys rode unreal yesterday in the cross country but today some of the other guys are a little quicker and the conditions were really challenging. The main thing is we all walked away healthy and can set our sights on the Hattah Desert Race.”

Pro Race Highlights

In the premier Pro race, Will Price battled Yamaha’s Fraser Higlett and Jett Yarnold in the E1 category. After a midfield start, Price fought his way into podium contention, finishing 4th in E1 and 10th outright.
