BCperformance Kawasaki standout Olly Simpson achieved a well-earned third overall in the final Kawasaki Australian Supersport Championship standings following the seventh and final round of the 2025 season this past weekend, finishing directly ahead of teammate Hayden Nelson in fourth position.
South Australian local Simpson wrapped up what has been an exceptional series by qualifying third at The Bend Motorsport Park, powering his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R to a 1:54.838s lap-time around the high-speed, 4.95-kilometre circuit in preparation for the upcoming races.
A pair of third-place results in each of the two encounters saw Simpson claim third overall for the weekend and finish his Kawasaki Supersport campaign in P3. The 27-year-old earned four podium finishes across the year, as well as a spectacular overall victory in round five at Phillip Island.
Olly Simpson: “We had a good day at The Bend, and then throughout the season we have just been getting quicker and quicker. The last couple of rounds, we found a setting that really works, and now we need to find just that last extra bit to keep fighting for wins. Overall though, I am super-happy with two third places – and to wrap up P3 in the championship is really positive.”
Nelson qualified fourth with a 1:54.968s lap-time, before two fourth-place finishes on Sunday earned him fourth overall and consolidated his P4 placement in the championship. Over the course of 2025, Nelson captured four top-five finishes and one round podium at Phillip Island onboard his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R.
Kelvin Reilly, BCperformance Kawasaki Team Manager: “The results from The Bend were good, achieving third and fourth overall this weekend and in the series. Both riders fought really hard in the front group, which is fantastic, and I can’t give them a big enough thank you for how much effort they put into the racing today. It’s been a big season for us, and to wrap things up like this is really rewarding to everyone in the team.”
In the Supersport 300 division, recently crowned champion Scott Nicholson powered to the class victory in South Australia, with fellow Kawasaki-mounted rider Riley Nauta capturing second position. Tyler King earned P4 overall, seeing Kawasaki take three of the top five placements at the final round.
