Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki finished out the 2025 AUSX Championship with a bang in Adelaide, as Rhys Budd took 2nd Overall for the Final Round along with 3rd in the SX2 Class Championship and Luke Clout secured 3rd Overall in the SX1 Class.
Rhys Budd continued his late season resurgence at Adelaide, as the SX2 rider would be in the fight for the Top 3 positions every time he hit the track. After a 3rd in the Heat Race, Budd lodged 4-2 finishes in the Finals en route to a fantastic 2nd Overall, securing 3rd in the SX2 Championship in the process.
“3rd in the SX2 Championship is a career highlight for me and after my crash in Supercross last year, to come full circle with a Championship podium and 2nd Overall at the Final Round is fantastic”, said Budd.
Luke Clout once again demonstrated his raw speed on the Supercross track, setting the fastest time in SX1 Qualifying before a dominant performance in his Heat Race taking out the win.
In the Finals, Clout challenged for the Opening Final win before coming home in 2nd place, but a first turn crash in the last gate drop of the season forced a charge from the back of the field to 7th place, landing Clout on the Overall podium in 3rd with 2-7 finishes in the Finals.
“This is a great way to finish off the AUSX Championship and I’m happy to finish on a high here at Adelaide and reward the team with a podium”, said Clout.
