The first round of the Australian Enduro Championship (AEC) kicked off with Rounds 1 & 2 in Roma, QLD on March 7-8, 2026.
Empire Kawasaki Off-Road Team’s Nate Munro opened his 2026 AEC campaign in the best possible fashion in Roma, claiming the J4 Class victory and topping the junior timesheets outright on Saturday aboard the Kawasaki KX250. Munro was dominant throughout the opening day, winning five of the six tests to comfortably secure the round victory. However, he was unable to build on that momentum on Sunday, with Round 2 ultimately cancelled due to excessive overnight rain.
Making his debut with the Empire Kawasaki Off-Road Team, Kai Austin recorded a solid P6 finish at Round 1 in Roma. The result marked Austin’s first appearance in the EJ Class after finishing runner-up in last year’s J4 championship, and also his first national outing on the Kawasaki KX250. For the young New South Welshman, it was a positive start to the 2026 season as he continues to adapt to his new class and bike.
Team Green rider Mason Phillips also impressed in Roma, delivering a strong performance in his home state to claim the EJ class victory aboard the Kawasaki KX250. Phillips remained consistent throughout the day’s tests to secure the win and open AUS Enduro 2026 in winning form.
For Koby Munro, it was a case of following in his older brother’s footsteps in Roma, delivering a dominant performance to claim the J2 class victory aboard his Team Green-supported KX85. Munro controlled the day’s proceedings with a strong showing across the tests, securing the win to open his 2026 season in impressive fashion.
Another podium finish as part of the Team Green program came courtesy of Asher Murphy, who secured P3 in the J4 Class in Roma. The result saw Murphy share the podium with Kawasaki stablemate Nate Munro after a strong and consistent performance across the day’s tests equipped with his KX250.
