Warren French Secures Podium Start Before Challenging Opening Championship Round

Western Australian rider Warren French has kicked off his 2026 campaign with a mix of promise and challenges in the Motorcycle Race Club of WA series.

At the Interclub Round at Wanneroo Raceway on March 22, French impressed early, qualifying second and securing back-to-back second-place finishes in the opening races. A reverse grid Race 3 saw him charge from 20th to seventh, earning enough points to finish second overall for the day.

Round 1 of the State Championships at Collie Motorplex proved more difficult. After qualifying sixth, French finished seventh in Race 1 before setup issues in Race 2 led to off-track moments and a recovery drive from the back of the field.

Despite the setback, French remains optimistic and will look to bounce back at Round 2 on May 17.
