Bedford Battles the Elements for Toolleen 2-Day Podium Finish
Fresh off the Hattah Desert Race, Peter Bedford made a last-minute decision to contest the Central Vic MX Club Toolleen 2-Day Event, and the decision paid off with another impressive podium result.
Day 1 featured fast, flowing track conditions that made for exciting racing before rain arrived and dramatically changed the circuit. The wet clay quickly formed deep ruts and challenging corners, placing a premium on line choice and consistency. Bedford adapted well to the changing conditions, recording moto finishes of 3rd, 2nd and 5th to finish the opening day 2nd overall.
Overnight rainfall of approximately 16mm transformed the track once again, creating an even tougher challenge for Day 2. Deep ruts covered the circuit from start to finish, while sections of thick clay tested both rider and machine throughout the day. Despite the demanding conditions and strong competition, Bedford remained focused on consistency, minimising mistakes and maintaining solid pace across all three motos.
Moto finishes of 3rd, 4th and 5th on Day 2 secured Bedford 2nd Overall for the weekend, earning another podium finish against a competitive field.
A standout from the weekend was the performance and reliability of the Matt Jones Motorcycles Team Green Kawasaki Australia KX450. Despite the punishing conditions, the machine performed flawlessly from the opening gate drop to the final chequered flag, giving Bedford the confidence to push throughout the event.
